Common scam calls
The caller says your account is at risk and asks for your online banking codes or tells you to move money. A real bank or the police never does this.
Someone claims to be from a well-known IT company and wants to install software on your computer or phone.
A foreign number rings once and hangs up. Calling back can be expensive.
If something already happened
Act in this order. Always use official contact details, never the ones the caller gave you.
- Your bank, right awayBlock your cards and online banking codes using your bank’s own number from its website or the back of your card.
- Report the crime to the policeYou can file a report online at poliisi.fi. Your bank may need it.

Frequently asked questions
Can I see who called me?
No. A mobile number does not reveal its owner. This service shows the number type and user reports, not personal details.
Why does the number look familiar when I do not know the caller?
Scammers can spoof a number so that it looks like your bank’s or the police’s number. Your bank will never ask for your codes over the phone.
